Frequently Asked Questions
What are Textured Lightworks?
Textured Lightworks are sculptural works created through layered, repurposed and hand-formed materials designed to respond to light, shadow and space.
Each piece is completely unique, shaped by movement, texture and natural form, creating subtle shifts as light interacts with its surface throughout the day.
Designed for curated interiors to bring warmth, calm and presence into a space. Many collectors are drawn to their organic qualities, tactile nature and quiet sense of atmosphere. Each work can also be commissioned, allowing scale and form to be tailored to a specific interior or environment.
What makes them different from traditional wall art?
They are not flat images. They sit between object and artwork. The depth, surface structure, and negative space all play an active role in how the work is experienced.
What materials do you use?
Each piece is made using carefully selected new and recycled materials chosen for their response to light, texture, and longevity.
Are each of them unique?
Yes. Every Textured Lightwork is hand-cut, shaped by hand and individually composed.
What finishes are available?
Textured Lightworks can be kept in their natural look, allowing the texture and material tones to speak for themselves. They will be sealed with a protective varnish.
Textured Lightwork pieces can be finished in custom colours, including soft tones, bold hues, and selected metallics. Each finish subtly changes how the piece interacts with light, giving a different mood and presence.
How do I look after a Textured Lightwork?
These works are low maintenance. Dust can be gently removed using a soft, dry duster or a very soft brush. Avoid humid areas, water, cleaning sprays, or abrasive materials, as the surface is intentionally textured.
Can I commission a Textured Lightwork?
Many collectors begin by asking how a Textured Lightwork could work within their space, from scale and placement to how the piece will interact with natural and artificial light throughout the day.
Commissions are something I genuinely enjoy. They allow me to create work that responds not only to my artistic direction, but also to the atmosphere and feeling a client wants to bring into a space.
Collectors often share photos, dimensions, architectural details, or simply a mood they are drawn to. From there, we explore possibilities together, including size, finish, colour, and overall presence.
Every commissioned Textured Lightwork is created as a unique, one-off piece. While each work remains true to my process and aesthetic, I’m very open to collaboration and love creating pieces that feel deeply connected to the people and spaces they are made for.
